Political Focus: Tumors
August 25th, 2007Lance Armstrong is having a cancer forum this coming that that most of the Republicans are skipping but almost all the important Democrats are attending. What bothers me about it is that, without Armstrong’s attempts, there’d be little emphasis on fighting cancer from the candidates because there isn’t enough (read: any) money in it for the candidates so they don’t care, and that ultimately affects the goals of their public health administration. It’s a shame, because cancer and AIDS and other longstanding diseases need to be fought with funds from the federal government if we expect to overcome them.
