"Independent" in the same sense that Ken Starr was, meaning "not very independent" indeed!

Talking Frontrunners

August 23rd, 2007

Good article here about Hillary Clinton locking up the Democratic establishment as her own. Nothing surprising in there, for those who know their politics up and down and back and forth, but for those who don’t…you’re in for a treat! Or disappointment, if you prefer your candidates not to come from within, though you’d be fooling yourself because they all do, to some extent or other. That’s not all Hillary’s got going for her as proof that she’s the frontrunner: Barack Obama’s wife is getting antsy about the Senator and so she’s saying some nasty things about Mrs. Clinton. For instance: “If you can’t run your own house, you can’t run the White House.” She, and he, claim that it was taken out of context and she was just pointing out how motherly and moral she (Mrs. Obama) is (isn’t that, too, a crack?) but we all know what she was saying and what she meant. It’ll probably serve as a potent punch as the campaign goes on because some women will resent her, and peeling away the female vote will be key for any candidate. Obama, still, has no chance, but he’ll wield Bill as a weapon, as will the Republicans to a lesserbutgreater extent.

Let’s turn our focus to the Republican frontrunner, Rudy Giuliani, who I don’t take serious due to his social positions, lack of prestige and character and his lisp. He is, of course, the Terrorist Candidate: that is, the candidate who wants to strap a bomb to your chest in hopes that you’ll vote for him. Time has run an expose on his terrorist “abilities.” I don’t think he’s very good, and Time doesn’t think so either (neither do the experts, who consider himself an attention whore and a cheat — or maybe that’s just my opinion). I guess he’s pretty good at raising terror, though, as I feel fear in my spine when I think of this lisping, lying man as President. Don’t think that’s what he’s going for, though.
